PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University men's soccer team got a brace from
Aran Hernández Vivar as the Wildcats rallied to earn a 2-2 draw with the Southwest Mustangs Thursday night at Wildcat Field.
Louisiana Christian (3-4-2, 0-0-1 RRAC) jumped on the board first as
Juan Tavera lifted a pass over the top which Hernández Vivar got on the end of and beat the goalkeeper for his first goal of the night, coming in the 29
th minute.
Southwest (3-1-5, 0-0-1 RRAC) equalized 10 minutes later, and then took the lead in the 66
th minute, going up 2-1.
However, LCU didn't take long to answer as
Juan Sierra sent a pass towards
Manuel Sosa-Villaseñor in the 70
th minute who one-touched it to Hernández Vivar and he finished it off with his second goal of the night to level the score once again. Neither team was able to find a winner over the match's final 20 minutes.
Hernández Vivar's two goals brought him to four on the season. He took five shots in the match and put three on target.
Sierra took one shot in the match and his assist was his fourth of the year.
Sosa-Villaseñor also took a shot in the match, which he put on target. His assist was his first in 2026.
Tavera's assist was his first.
LCU took 10 shots in the match, putting four on target in the contest.
Ricardo Gross (2-4-2) played all 90 minutes in net for the Wildcats in the match. Southwest sent 18 total shots at his goal, putting six on target. He was credited with four saves in the match.
The Wildcats wrap up their four-match homestand on Saturday as Texas College comes to Pineville. Kickoff of Saturday's match against the Steers (0-8-1, 0-1 RRAC) is set for 1:30 p.m. at Wildcat Field.
