WACO, Texas – The Louisiana Christian University volleyball program now has two Red River Athletic Conference weekly accolades to their credit, and each have come courtesy of setter
Emma Cother who was voted RRAC Defender of the Week for her spectacular weekend at Huston-Tillotson.
Â
Cother, a sophomore from Carencro, Louisiana, was recognized as the Setter of the Week back on September 4 and is the only player in school history to earn any weekly honors since joining the conference at the beginning of the 2021 athletic calendar.
Â
The five-foot-six nursing major recorded back-to-back double-doubles of 31 assists and 20 digs on Friday in addition to a 32-assist, 12-dig performance in Saturday's 3-1 victory over the Rams.
Â
An alum of Teurlings Catholic High School, she led the Wildcats in both categories with a per set average of 9.00 assists and 4.57 digs while setting a new single-game career-high in the latter Friday evening.
Â
Cother currently sits in third among her league counterparts regarding assists per set (8.83) and fourth for total assists (353).
Â
Cother, Coach Salloum, and the Cats will host the PQC Tigers on Friday evening at 7 p.m. before hosting Senior Day versus Paul Quinn at noon on Saturday prior to the football game that is set to kickoff at 2 p.m. across campus.
