WACO, Texas – The Louisiana Christian University women's soccer team picked up its second conference honor of the season as Kamsi Nwosu-Damian was named the Red River Athletic Conference's Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.
 
Nwosu-Damian, a senior defender from London, England, was a driving force in Louisiana Christian picking up a pair of shutout wins to start RRAC play, 8-0 over Southwest and 11-0 over Texas College.
 
Her play disrupted the offense for both teams as the Mustangs and Steers combined for 13 total shots and six shots on goal with none scored.
 
For her part, Nwosu-Damian was able to get up front as well, and got the opening goal against Texas College on Saturday, which also proved to be the match winner.
 
This is LCU's second RRAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week award this season after Giselle Laing won the offensive honor back on Aug. 31. This is Nwosu-Damian's first career weekly honor.
 
The Wildcats (5-2-1, 2-0 RRAC) head out on the road for three-straight matches, starting this week with a pair in San Antonio. The trip to the Alamo City starts on Thursday against Our Lady of the Lake. Kickoff of Thursday's match against the Saints (4-2-2, 2-0 RRAC) is set for 1 p.m. at the OLLU Soccer Field.
