KANSAS CITY – The Louisiana Christian University football team continued its rise in the NAIA rankings, coming in at #14 in the final NAIA Coaches Top 25 of the season while clocking in at #12 in the Victory Sports Network Media Top 25 on Monday.
The new rankings give Louisiana Christian (7-1, 5-0 SAC) its best rankings in program history, breaking the old mark of just a week ago as both the coaches and media made the Wildcats a top-15 team for the first time when they were ranked #15 in the NAIA Coaches Poll and #14 in the VSN Media Poll. LCU was also #14 in the NAIAFBALL Media Top 25 last week, which comes out on Tuesdays.
LCU is coming off a 31-23 win at Nelson on Saturday and have now won four-straight games overall and eight-straight in Sooner Athletic Conference play, dating back to last season.
This is the final NAIA Top 25 Coaches Poll of the season. Starting next week, the NAIA Top 25 rankings will be done by the National Selection Committee.
The Wildcats look to keep the good times rolling this Saturday in Tyler, Texas as LCU takes on Texas College. Kickoff of Saturday's contest against the Steers (0-6, 0-5 SAC) is set for 5 p.m. at Mewbourne Field and will be live streamed on 446Sports through YouTube.
