PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University athletics program has a unique week laid out in front of them to cap off January as softball's season starts on Thursday, basketball plays the same opponent twice in-a-row, and baseball welcomes a newly countable foe to Billy Allgood Field.
   
The final team to kickoff their 2024-25 regular season is Head Coach Barry Roberts' softball squad, who host the Webber International Warriors for its home opener at 5 p.m. inside Wildcat Park.
 
Women's basketball takes its talents down to the Crescent City in hopes of spoiling the #21 Xavier (Louisiana)'s perfect season at 5:30 p.m. as the Gold Nuggets enter the week sitting at 18-0 overall, 15-0 in the Red River.
 
Men's hoops will matchup with XULA for the 66th time in team history on Thursday, playing nearly as many games against the Gold Rush as the rest of the RRAC combined (88) when they tip-off around 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening.
   
The spherical sports take center stage on Friday as the ladies head over to Champions Sportsplex across from LSUA for its first two of three games as part of the Louisiana Christian Invitational opposite McPherson (1 p.m.) from Kansas, followed by William Woods (6 p.m.) out of Fulton, Missouri.
 
The Diamond Cats will play its first official non-exhibition contests versus John Melvin University during a 2/5 p.m. doubleheader on Friday.
   
The second month on the calendar will be a hectic one for the athletic department, beginning with an early morning (10 a.m.) neutral site softball clash with Central Christian College, also out of McPherson, Kansas, to conclude the LCU Invite.
 
Basketball hosts its portion of the home-and-home against Xavier University of Louisiana at 1 and 3 p.m. in a pair of huge tilts for RRAC Tournament seeding.
 
Finally, baseball wraps up its three-game series with the Millers from 85 miles south of town as first pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday.
