PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University athletics program will have a major presence on-campus for the first time since in about three-plus weeks as each of the four fall sports, football, volleyball, and both soccer squads will play at least one home contest in their respective venues.
Wednesday, September 18:
Women's soccer will be the first one back to work, eyeing their first victory of the Houle era against another brand of Wildcats from Wiley with kickoff at 5 p.m. on
Wildcat Field.
(RV) Men's soccer has been in decommission for the longest, having played their last match all the way back on September 4 in Walnut Ridge, as they attempt to get back on the winning track versus WU as well.
Friday, September 20:
15 games and a full month into the 2024 campaign, volleyball will finally play in front of the home crowd inside
H.O. West Fieldhouse against the Texas College Steers at 7 p.m. on Friday evening.
Saturday, September 21:
It will be an action-packed Saturday in CenLa with everyone having competition in some form or fashion within a max drive of 15 minutes.
First on the docket is the ladies that reside on the court, eyeing to keep a perfect all-time record against the visitors from Tyler, Texas intact.
Next up is the Red River Rivalry, which also doubles as the conference opener for the second straight season, as Coach Houle makes his debut on the correct side of the heated rivalry with the former LSUA student-athlete at the helm of the Wildcats for a 1 p.m. start time.
Coach Castillo's men will invade enemy soil, a.k.a
Generals Soccer Field, trying to extend its unbeaten streak in the series to three after blanking LSU Alexandria in a 3-0 decision last year while neither side could score during a 0-0 draw in 2022.
The grand finale of an eventful four days happens at 6 p.m. Saturday evening when
Ben McLaughlin's gridiron men open their Sooner Athletic Conference title defense opposite the Lions of Langston.
