ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Louisiana Christian University men's basketball program earned a pair of All-RRAC selections as announced by the conference office late Thursday evening as Jude Akabueze claimed a Second Team nod and Gary Smith was listed as an Honorable Mention while Sam Wren was selected as the team's Champions of Character representative.
 
Akabueze, a senior center from Anambra State, Nigeria, was the Red River Athletic Conference Player of the Week on December 26, while ranking in the NAIA's top-25 for both offensive rebounds (92) and field goal percentage (64.9%). He averaged 12.8 points, 7.7 rebounds, and nearly a block per game (0.9) in addition to nine double-doubles.
 
Smith, a junior guard and former Xavier (Louisiana) transfer from Prairieville, Louisiana, led the Wildcats in both three-pointers (51) as well as steals (34) while dropping 12.3 points, 2.3 assists, and 1.4 steals on average. The long distance assassin logged 14 double-figure scoring outings on top of reaching 20 or more six times.
