PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University athletics program would like to recognize football's
Jermarian Jackson and women's soccer's
Jaycee Woods as this week's LCU Student-Athletes of the Week, the latter of which being crowned RRAC Defender of the Week.

Jackson, a freshman defensive tackle from West Feliciana, Louisiana, became the first defender in five weeks to register double-digit tackles as he fronted the Wildcats with a season-high 11 tackles (seven solo), three tackles for loss and the team's lone sack.

Woods, a senior goalkeeper from Mount Pleasant, Texas, pitched her fourth & fifth shutouts over her past six matches including the team's second win over an opponent receiving votes in the top-25 on Saturday at (RV) Xavier. The win over XULA locked up the #2 seed in the RRAC Tournament during as she helped the Wildcats tie & then break the program's single-season shutout record with 12 clean sheets in the club's 18 matches (66.7%). The Texan notched nine saves against the Stallions and Gold Nuggets while playing every second of the team's season between the pipes as the only keeper on the roster.

The Arkansas Baptist College Buffaloes are on the schedule for Saturday afternoon as the Orange and Blue invade the capital of Little Rock for a 2 p.m. bout.

Second-seeded LCU is just three (potentially two if #1 seed LSU Shreveport makes the finals) victories away from its second NAIA Tournament bid in program history (Fall 2021) and will look to take one step closer on Friday at 3 p.m. when they host the seventh seed from Our Lady of the Lake.
