BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University football program did not end its season the way it had hoped but it did get rewarded with its third Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) weekly award and its second via unanimous decision as
Mason Ingram collected his second Special Teams Player of the Week of 2023, both times receiving all ten possible votes.
Â
Ingram, a sophomore from Shreveport, Louisiana, pinned Baker (Kansas) down at their own 12 yard line on each of his first two punts of the ballgame, one of which being a 51-yard blast as he consistently flipped the field when both teams were struggling to find its offensive footing early.
Â
The six-foot-three biology major averaged 39.75 yards per kick as he amassed 159 yards on four boots, which impressed the media voters enough to claim his second unanimous victory this season, also picking up the accolade on September 18.
Â
The Captain Shreve High School alum racked up 1,440 punt yards, 13 balls pinned inside the red zone, five 50-plus yarders, and zero touchbacks as he will hopefully land on one of the Sooner Athletic Conference's postseason teams.
