PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University athletics program recognizes football's
Devin Briscoe and women's soccer's
Allie Kyle as this week's LCU Student-Athletes of the Week with both players going above and beyond to lead the Wildcats to victory.
Â
Briscoe, a graduate student Nicholls State transfer from Cecilia, Louisiana, rushed for a career-high among games against NAIA competition with 167 yards, scored his seventh career multi-touchdown outing on the ground, and broke off a new career-long 66-yard rush as his two scores came in 66 and 35-yard chunks. The Exercise Science major averaged nearly a first down and-a-half per carry at 16.7 on just ten totes, gaining positive yardage each time he touched the rock.
Â
Kyle, a junior from DeRidder, Louisiana, tied her career-high for points scored with a trio, scoring the opening goal in the 12th minute while dishing out the assist on the game-winner in the win vs. North American. The Art major with an Education minor rewarded Coach Ayers as the only Wildcat field player to log all 90 minutes on the pitch against the Stallions and has amassed eight points, courtesy of three goals plus two assists on the campaign.
Â
Briscoe and his classmates will be honored for their dedication and commitment to the program on Saturday's Senior Day when the Orange and Blue scrimmage John Melvin at noon in what will be the final home contest.
Â
Kyle and the #5 seed Cats will look to advance past crosstown rivals #4 LSU Alexandria on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Red River Athletic Conference Quarterfinals.
