Men’s Soccer Receiving 20 Votes Ahead Of Final Regular Season Weekend

10/25/2023 12:48:00 PM

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Louisiana Christian University men's soccer program was locked in a pair of stalemates last week opposite their Red River rivals from San Antonio and are now joined by Xavier University of Louisiana in the receiving votes section of this poll as the Wildcats sit in 33rd as the top squad among the RRAC representation.

Heading into the final two matches of the regular season, Coach Castillo's crew currently sports the highest single-season winning percentage in program history, tied with last year's team at an even 70%, while ranking 19th in the NAIA regarding team shutouts (7) and collecting the fewest yellow cards in the league at 25.

LCU will also be scoreboard watching LSU Shreveport's contests as they need a tie or a loss from LSUS in one of their two remaining matchups versus Texas College or Jarvis Christian to have a chance to win the regular season championship by winning out.

Saturday's penultimate game would then turn into a de facto RRAC Regular Season Championship match with the automatic berth to the NAIA Tournament if the Pilots were to falter with the winner of (RV) XULA and (RV) Louisiana Christian earning the AQ in addition to the top seed in the conference tourney.

First things first, the Cats must handle their own business on Thursday evening against North American at 7:30 p.m. inside Wildcat Field.
