WACO, Texas – The Louisiana Christian University softball team picked up its fourth RRAC Player of the week award as
Jordan Dauthier's key home run in a big win propelled her to the Red River Athletic Conference Player of the Week award, the conference office announced on Monday.
Dauthier, a freshman catcher from New Roads, La., went four of five in the three games she played over the weekend with four RBI and three runs scored. Her highlight moment came in game one of Friday's doubleheader against (RV) Our Lady of the Lake as she came up with two on in a two-run game in the top of the seventh inning and went to the left-center wall for a three-run home run to give the Wildcats a 17-12 lead. The home run proved vital as OLLU scored three runs in the bottom of the inning before the Wildcats ended the game with a win.
For the season, Dauthier is now hitting .350 on the season. This was her second RRAC Player of the Week award on the year, joining
Meredith Perry,
Olivia Coaker, and
Miah Broussard who have all taken home weekly honors so far this season.
Dauthier and the rest of the Wildcats (16.11, 5-3 RRAC) return to play on Saturday, finally returning home after a month away from Pineville, against Jarvis Christian. First pitch of Saturday's doubleheader against the Bulldogs (15-10, 3-3 RRAC) is set for 1:00 P.M. at Wildcat Park.
