VICTORIA, Texas – The Louisiana College golf team got a record performance from Ryan Palmer, who shot a LC program record five-under par in the final round, to pull the Wildcats to a ninth-place finish at the Houston-Victoria Fall Classic at The Club at Colony Creek.
 
The third round was a good rebound from the first two rounds on Monday that saw the Wildcats drop back to 33 shots over par. However, thanks in part to Palmer's 66 on Tuesday that saw him move from 18^th in the individual standings to finish in a tie for sixth, the Wildcats as a team shot six-over par for the final round that saw LC claw up two spots into ninth place in the final team standings.
 
Palmer's five-under, 66 is the lowest score ever carded for in a single round by a Wildcats golfer, beating out the three-under, 69 carded by Daniel Deloach at the Mississippi College Invitational in March 2014 and by AJ Gaudin at the 2015 American Southwest Conference Championship in April 2015.
 
Landon Nobles and Nick Grabowski both finished 14-over par in a tie for 41^st. Collin Stinson had a fine final round as well as his one-over par on Tuesday saw him jump seven spots to into a tie for 46^th at 16-over par. Luke Myers rounded out the field in 58^th at 28 over par.
 
The Wildcats have now wrapped up their fall schedule and return to action in the spring, back in Victoria, Texas and The Club at Colony Creek for the Claud Jacobs Invitational on February 13^th & 14^th.
